Shiva is considered the god of yoga. The Indian tradition of yoga is rich with myth -- in fact, many of the yoga poses have accompanying myths. Shiva's Dance is the story of Natarajasana, or Dancer's Pose.
In the children's version of this tale, Shiva arrives at a place deep in a forest to teach a lesson to a group of sages, or rishis. The colorful illustrations dance off the page, and children are sure to be entranced by Shiva's calm resilience while righting the balance of the universe.
This famous Dance of Shiva called the Ananda Tandava is a dance that we each perform as we create, maintain, dissolve, reveal, and conceal ourselves during our day-to-day lives.
Let's dance!
